by Hunter Thomas September 1, 2019 0 commentsDARLINGTON, S.C. – The start of the 70th running of the Bojangles’ Southern 500 is currently delayed due to multiple rain cells striking the track.
Officials were in the process of drying the track, Too Tough To Tame when a heavier cell struck around 6 p.m., the time that pre-race ceremonies were originally set to get underway.
NASCAR is still planning on racing tonight thanks to 10 Air Titans, 7 jet dryers, 2 Elgin sweepers, 1 track vac and 1 buffalo blower.
Stay tuned for additional information.
7:44 p.m. Update: Track drying efforts have resumed.
9:25 p.m. Update: The race will begin at roughly 10 p.m.
