PELETIER, N.C. – The All Veteran Group, an independently owned precision parachute team, will jump into Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway on Saturday evening as part of pre-race ceremonies for the Bobby Watson Memorial Celebration.

The team has jumped at Carteret County Speedway on three previous occasions, providing a little razzle dazzle for excited spectators and building up the excitement leading into the feature racing program.  Once again, the team will electrify the audience as they fly into the speedway, landing on designated targets on the track’s frontstretch.

“We’re excited to have the All Veteran Group parachute team back at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway,” track owner Bob Lowery said.  “Bobby always loved having the All Veteran Group as part of pre-race festivities, so we thought having them be a part of the pre-race show for the Bobby Watson Memorial Celebration would be a great tribute.  These are great people and we’re always glad to have them.”

When Watson managed Carteret County Speedway, the pre-race show was often a spectacle of its own.  Filled with pageantry and patriotism, the art of the pre-race show was something Watson took pride in.  That tradition continues Saturday night in the Bobby Watson Memorial Celebration.

Along with the All Veteran Group, a reunion will be held during pre-race festivities for drivers who used to race when Carteret County Speedway was a go-kart track.  In recent days, former competitors and fans have sent pictures of the old karting facility to the track.

Watson will be honored and remembered by drivers and fans alike during pre-race festivities, which also consist of a meet-and-greet which allows spectators to meet the competitors.

The Bobby Watson Memorial Celebration will feature racing for Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Mini-Stocks, Legends, Chargers, U-CARs, and Champ Karts along with the East Coast Flathead Ford Racing Association and the Coastal Carolina Mini Cup Series.  In all, Saturday’s race will showcase nine feature races.

Tickets are available at the gate on Saturday for $15 for adults while kids 10 and under get in free.  Gates open at 4pm, pre-race festivities get underway at 6pm, and the green flag will fly at 7:15pm.
