DARLINGTON, S.C. – The 74th running of the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway was a memorable NASCAR Playoff opener.

Denny Hamlin dominated the race, winning Stages 1 and 2 and leading a race high of 177 laps, but a potential loose wheel and a crash ended his winning chances. Kyle Larson outran Tyler Reddick to win his first at the track, a victory that has eluded him for years.
