Sunday’s Folds Of Honor QuikTrip 500 Start Time Moved To 1 p.m. At Atlantaby Hunter Thomas February 24, 2018 0 comments
HAMPTON, Ga. – Due to the threat of rain on Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 will start at 1 p.m. ET.
The 325-lap race was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, but with the current weather prediction, NASCAR and the track will begin the race an hour earlier in hopes to get ahead of the weather that’s projected to impact the area.
With the schedule change, the Atlanta Motor Speedway Pre-Race Concert presented by iHeartRadio featuring Chris Janson will get underway at 11 a.m. Driver intros will now begin at 12:15 p.m., and the green flag will fly at 1:06 p.m. ET.
Kyle Busch will start on the pole for Sunday’s race after he ran a 30.024 second lap at 184.652 mph in Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Qualifying. Ryan Newman missed out on the pole by 0.038 seconds as he will start alongside of Busch on Sunday.
