DARLINGTON, S.C. – Kyle Larson came into the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway as one of the favorites, but the Hendrick Motorsports driver crashed on Lap 4.

NOTE: Larson is not officially scored out of the race as of the end of Stage 1.

UPDATE: Larson has returned to the track and has met NASCAR’s minimum speed.

Kyle Larson started in the 19th position and had not made up any positions initially after the start. He was racing alongside Tyler Reddick in the 23XI Racing No.45 McDonald’s Toyota when the accident occurred.

Larson was trying to get underneath Reddick for position coming out of Turn 2, but he got loose and spun, hitting the inside wall hard. The hit was enough to end the day for Larson and his No. 5 Hendrickcars.com Chevrolet team.

Larson has failed to finish the previous three Darlington spring races. Larson entered the weekend coming off a fifth-place finish at Martinsville Speedway.

The Goodyear 400 is broadcasting live on FS1.
