BRISTOL, Tenn. – Kyle Larson dominated to win the SciAps 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon.

Larson started on the pole and led a race high of 277 laps en route to his 16th career NASCAR Xfinity Series victory. Hendrick Motorsports, as well as the entire NASCAR industry, is mourning the loss of Jon Edwards, who served as Larson’s public relations representative. On Saturday, Larson honored Edwards following the win.

“It’s awesome,” Larson said. “I wish I could’ve won last night but just came up a little bit short. Cool to get a win this weekend for Jon (Edwards) and everybody who has been part of his life and all that. We’ve got one more tomorrow. Will be nothing better to cap it off with a Cup win for Jon and all of Hendrick Motorsports”

Larson would love to get another win on Sunday for Edwards and Hendrick Motorsports. He starts third for the NASCAR Cup Series Food City 500.

Finishing second in the SciAps 300 was Carson Kvapil. The runner-up finish ties Kvapil best finish in the series. Allgaier finished third, followed by Sammy Smith and Darlington winner, Brandon Jones.

Rounding out the top-10 was Jesse Love, Ryan Sieg, Corey Heim, Christian Eckes and Dean Thompson. With Heim and Thompson finishing inside the top-10, it marked the third time Sam Hunt Racing has ever had two top-10 finishes in a race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Sam Mayer won Stage 1, and Larson won Stage 2.

There were eight lead changes among five drivers.

The caution flew on five occasions for 44 laps. The most notable crash occurred on Lap 77, when Sheldon Creed spun out of Turn 4 and was absolutely nailed by Brennan Poole. Bother drivers were ok following the accident.

Allgaier leads Mayer in the standings by 83 points.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will return to Rockingham Speedway in North Carolina on Saturday, April 19 for the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 presented by Black’s Tire. Live coverage will broadcast on the CW at 4 p.m. ET.
