LAKE VIEW, S.C. – Raeford, NC’s Shaun Harrell started from the pole and led all 25 laps to take his fourth straight Late Model win Saturday night at Lake View Motor Speedway dating back to last season.

In qualifying, Harrell claimed the pole position over the 12-car field with a lap of 17.302 seconds. At the drop of the green flag, Harrell gained the advantage over outside pole sitter, Timmy Blackwell, who got crossed up entering turn one. The first caution of the night waved on the opening lap when Johnathon Ward went for a spin in turn four. Harrell would not be headed as he led the rest of the way for the $1,500 win over Johnny Pridgen, Blackwell, Chris Miller, and Brian Strickland.

Pole sitter Andrew Durham led flag-to-flag to score the Mid-East Modified Tour win in their second stop of the season at Lake View. The only caution of the race waved when Dylan Smith spun on lap nine in turn two. Following Durham at the checkered flag were Jeremy Steele, Jordan Taylor, Josh Fields, and Zachary Tate.

Myrtle Beach, SC’s Benji Thompson got the advantage over fast qualifier Chris Powers entering turn one and led the rest of the way to take another Limited Sportsman win. Following Thompson at the finish were Powers, Cameron Norris, IV, Jamie Barnes, and Scott Lewis.

Buck Causey took an interesting path to victory lane in the Renegade division. Pole sitter Tom Lovett spun entering turn one on the opening lap handing the lead to Jeffrey Batten. Batten led until lap five when his car lost power exiting turn four. Joey Wilks appeared to take the win, but failed post-race inspection giving the win to Causey. Rounding out the top five Eric Gore, Ricky Chavis, Ashley Best, and Anthony Spivey.

Wilks fortunes changed, however, as he took his brand new Neon to the win in the Stingerz feature. Following Wilks at the finish were Derek Kemper, Brian Mercer, Collin Brown, and Kyle Jenks, who was seeking his third straight win at Lake View.

In Bell & Bell Vintage Modified action Jeremy Cumbee was the Pro Modified winner, while Kimbo Long took the Modified win. Jason Floyd was the Sportsman division winner, while Sherman Garris won in 6-Cylinders, and Carl Smith was the Senior winner.

Lake View Motor Speedway will be in action next Saturday night, July 27, featuring specials for the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds (SportMods are eligible to race) and Sharp Mini Late Models. Also in action will be the Late Models, Limited Sportsman, Renegades, and Stingerz.
