DARLINGTON, S.C. – Yesterday, Darlington Raceway teamed up with the U.S. Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights, to highlight Military Appreciation Month in the most Too Tough to Tame way possible. Darlington Raceway President Josh Harris and the Golden Knights participated in a tandem jump out of a U.S. Army aircraft in the blue over Orangeburg, South Carolina.

“It was an honor to have the opportunity to do a tandem jump with the U.S. Army Golden Knights,” said Josh Harris, President of Darlington Raceway. “It’s an unreal experience that celebrates our nation’s military while educating and familiarizing our communities with the U.S. Army.”

The U.S. Army Golden Knights is a demonstration and competition parachute team that performs across the country and competes on an international level. The Tandem Team is a group of parachuting specialists who give first-time jumpers, from community leaders to civilians, the opportunity to be a Golden Knight for a day.

Racing returns to the track Too Tough To Tame to close out the NASCAR regular season Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 31-Sep. 1. The action kicks off with the Sports Clips Haircuts VFW Help a Hero 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series on Saturday, followed by the iconic Cook Out Southern 500 NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday.

NASCAR fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets via phone at 866-459-7223 or online at darlingtonraceway.com while supplies last.
