LAS VEGAS – Following three overtime restarts, Grant Enfinger prevailed in the World of Westgate 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday night to capture his first win of the season that also catapults him into the Round of 6 in the NASCAR Playoffs.

On the final restart of the night, race leader Brett Moffitt and Grant Enfinger brought the field to the green; however, when the green flag flew, Enfinger who restarted in second took off, but Moffitt didn’t due to a fuel pickup issue. The mishap allowed Enfinger to soar to the lead and win this year’s second NASCAR Playoff race.

“We’ve put pieces together to win the race individually but not as a whole, as a group,” Enfinger said in Victory Lane. “From the spotter, his 500th start here, the crew chief, the crew knocked them out of the park this week on pit road, and the truck was great. We had the best truck out there. I’m thankful for this Ford F-150.”

While Enfinger was out in front of the field on seven occasions leading a race high of 40 laps, the victory didn’t come easy for the 33-year-old ThorSport Racing driver. Earlier in the race, a crash amongst the leaders nearly took out Enfinger in the No. 98 Champion Power Equipment/Curb Records Ford. On lap 101, the caution came out when Stewart Friesen got loose underneath Matt Crafton in Turn 2. Friesen spun, collecting John Hunter Nemechek. Enfinger, who was behind the mayhem just barley squeezed by on the high side.

Johnny Sauter had a fast GMS Racing No. 21 Allegiant Chevrolet. He led 21 laps throughout the race but following the three NASCAR Overtime restarts, Sauter found himself finishing in the second position. Sauter now sits third in the NASCAR Playoff standings, just 40 points ahead of Ben Rhodes who is the first driver below the Round of 6 cutoff mark.

NASCAR Playoff contenders, Justin Haley, Rhodes and Crafton rounded out the top-five on Friday night.

Completing the top-10 were Myatt Snider, Ross Chastain, Austin Theriault, Austin Wayne Self and Chris Eggleston.

Throughout the night, there were 11 caution for 47 laps. The most notable caution came out on lap 139, and it involved nine trucks. The red flag was displayed for 10 minutes and 49 seconds before the field lined back up for the final restart of the night.

The final race of the Round of 8 will be held at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, October 13. Live coverage of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race will broadcast at 1 p.m. ET. on FOX and the Motor Racing Network (MRN).
