CONCORD, N.C. – Alex Bowman captured his first-career NASCAR national series victory on Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway after winning the Drive for the Cure 300 Presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.

Bowman, who is slated to take over the reins of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s  Hendrick Motorsports No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, led the final 32 laps en route to his first-ever NASCAR XFINITY Series race win. The 24-year-old found Victory Lane in his 51st series start. Sam Hornish Jr. finished second, while Ryan Blaney, Austin Dillon and Brennan Poole rounded out the top-five. Completing the top-10 was Cole Custer, Daniel Hemric, Daniel Suarez, Matt Tifft and Elliott Sadler
