LAS VEGAS, Nev.– Joey Logano won Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway after leading 106 laps of the 200-lap race.

The driver of the No. 12 REV Ford for Team Penske captured his 28th career series victory on Saturday. Logano is now eighth on the NASCAR XFINITY Series’ wins list. The 26-year old had to hold off Kyle Larson in a late-race restart with four laps to go en route to the win.

“It was hard to figure out what to do and what lane to pick, but the one thing we did know was we had a very fast REV Ford Mustang,” said Logano. “Brian Wilson (crew chief) and all the guys that bring this 12 car out, that’s three wins in a row for this 12 car, so that’s something I’m proud to be a part of and work with these guys.”

Kyle Larson, driver of the No. 42 CreditOne Bank Chevrolet, was unable to make the pass on Logano to capture the victory. With a second-place finish, he earned his second top-10 finish in three races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Larson led 33 laps throughout the afternoon.

Reigning NASCAR XFINITY Series champion, Daniel Suarez, started third and finished in the third position on Saturday in his Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 Interstate Batteries Toyota. In all three of Suarez’s series starts at the speedway, he has captured three top-10 finishes.

“I think it was a good day,” Suarez said. “Everyone – Chris Gabehart (crew chief) and all the guys – they did a really good job working with our Interstate Batteries Camry. I felt like at the end of the race we had a lot of speed on the short run, but for some reason on the long run we didn’t have the speed that we wanted. We lost a lot of track position, but Chris did an amazing job working to gain track position, putting myself back into the top five and with some adjustments we were able to keep ourselves there.”

Justin Allgaier finished in the fourth position, followed by Austin Dillon in the fifth position. Darrell Wallace Jr., Kyle Busch, Elliott Sadler, Ryan Reed and Brad Keselowski completed the top-10.

There were nine cautions over the course of the 200-lap event. Two of the cautions highlighted the ends of Stage 1 and 2. Kyle Busch was the winner of Stage 1, while Brad Keselowski was the winner of Stage 2. At the end of the day, pole-sitter, Busch, finished seventh, and Keselowski finished 10th.

Five drivers led laps throughout the third race of the season on Saturday. Logano led the most laps (106), while Kyle Busch who finished seventh, led once for 48 laps.

Elliott Sadler currently leads the NASCAR XFINITY Series point standings over Ryan Reed by four points. William Byron is third, nine points back.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series heads to Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday, March 18 for the second race of the ‘West Coast Swing’ this month. Live coverage of the DC Solar 200 will broadcast on FOX and the Motor Racing Network (MRN) at 4 p.m. ET.
