TALLADEGA, Ala. – A huge crash on the backstretch in Stage 2 of the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway has significantly impacted The Chase.

On Lap 132, Ryan Blaney, who was drafting with Team Penske teammate, Joey Logano, pulled out of line and had to check up, and he was then turned by Bubba Wallace who also spun. Multiple Chase drivers were involved, including Tyler Reddick, Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott.

“It wasn’t his fault,” said Ryan Blaney about Joey Logano. “We were both trying to protect it. Both of us didn’t time it very good and unfortunately wrecked folks. I feel like I had a hand in kind of being aggressive there, but it’s a shame guys got tore up.”

Reddick’s car appeared totaled, but the team is working to make repairs in the garage.

One driver who will benefit from the mayhem will be Christopher Bell, who crashed entering pit road earlier in the race. He was 40th 10 laps down, but now he has catapulted to 35th, with Blaney, Reddick and Elliott behind him in the running position.

Joey Logano won Stage 2 after barely beating Kyle Larson to the line.

The YellaWood 500 is now in its final stage. The race is broadcasting live on NBC.
