BRISTOL, Tenn. – Sheldon Creed held off the field in NASCAR Overtime in Friday night’s Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway to earn his second Chase win of the season.

Creed’s performance is on fire. He kicked off The Chase with a victory at Darlington Raceway, and then he finished runner-up to Jesse Love at World Wide Technology Raceway. On Friday night, Creed only led three laps, and it was the final three laps. The driver of the Haas Factory Team No. 00 Ollie’s Chevrolet ran inside the top-10 all race long and struck when it mattered most to capture his third checkered flag of 2026.

“Yea, just great call by my crew chief and engineer there to put tires on,” Creed said. “Great pit stop by my guys to get me out first – to be the first one on tires.”

Creed continues and said, “I tried to time the 18 (William Sawalich) well, and just me being on a lot newer tires, it was easier for me to get going. I got clear, and I was trying to watch him up top and seemed like he had good momentum. Just extremely proud of everyone at Haas Factory Team.”

Coming home in the second position was Joe Gibbs Racing’s Sawalich in the No. 18 SoundGear Toyota. Sawalich restarted on the outside of the front row on the final restart; however, Creed had fresher tires and was able to take off more quickly.

“Yeah, double 00 (Sheldon Creed) just had new tires, and old tires can’t launch as good as new,” Sawalich said. “Just kind of lost it on that restart. Did all I could there on the top to make it up, but it just wasn’t enough. Our SoundGear GR Supra was pretty good today, and especially good in stage three.”

Brent Crews finished third, followed by Justin Allgaier, who wasn’t too pleased with Love after he was shoved into the outside wall. Following the checkered flag, Allgaier paid Love a visit on pit road.

“I would’ve done a lot of things different,” said Love who finished 17^th. “Honestly what happened, was I got caught up in the moment racing him, and I knew the last restart, I had to get a good launch when I got the front row, and I had to go through (Turns) 1 and 2 and hit the line. I was able to accomplish that, and then I guess we came out of (Turn) 4 kind of still side-by-side. I needed to run my best corner, and instead, I got caught up in the moment racing him, and in turn, that led me down a path to make an enemy I did not need to make and make a terrible decision that took ourselves out of contention to win.”

Completing the top-10 was Corey Day, Taylor Gray, Sam Mayer, Parker Retzlaff, Den Thompson and Sammy Smith.

Allgaier won Stage 1, and his JR Motorsports teammate, Carson Kvapil won Stage 2.

There were eight lead changes among five drivers. Kvapil led a dominating 156 laps.

The caution came out on five occasions for 47 laps. There were only two multicar accidents.

The first occurred on Lap 125, when Natalie Decker spun off the nose of Anthony Alfredo on the backstretch.

The second multicar accident happened on Lap 298, and it set the field up for an Overtime restart. Day, Ryan Sieg and Retzlaff were racing three-wide down the backstretch, when they all collided. Sieg suffered the most damage as he went hard into the wall, twice.

Creed is now leading The Chase by 11 points over Allgaier. Kvapil is third, 37 points back, followed by Love, who is now 41 points back.

The fourth race of the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Chase will take place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 3.The Focused Health 302 will broadcast live on the CW Network at 7:30 p.m. ET.
