Meyer Shank Racing Follows IMSA Win Up With Pole In NTT INDYCAR Series At Long Beach
by Hunter Thomas April 18, 2026 0 commentsLONG BEACH, Calif. – Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian won the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship portion of the ACURA Grand Prix of Long Beach earlier in the day, and then in the afternoon, won the pole for Sunday’s NTT INDYCAR Series race with Felix Rosenqvist.
Rosenqvist ran a lap of 1 minute, 7.4635 seconds at 105.017 mph in the No. 60 Sirius Acura Honda to claim the top spot on the speed chart on Saturday. The pole run is the seventh of his career and second with the team.
“What a day for us,” Rosenqvist said. “Meyer Shank Racing wins the IMSA race from the pole followed by pole here. Pretty lost for words.”
Saturday’s strong showing comes as a relief for Rosenqvist as he currently sits 14th in the standings with no top-10 finishes far this season.
“It’s been a tough start of the year,” Rosenqvist said. “We said we wanted to do a little bounce-back here, and we did. Phenomenal day for us.”
He outran Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward, who sits fifth in the standings. O’Ward ran a lap of 1 minute, 7.5076 seconds at 104.948 mph in the No. 5 Chevrolet.
Defending series champion, Alex Palou will start third and will share the second row with defending Long Beach winner Kyle Kirkwood, who also led pre-qualifying practice.
David Malukas will start fifth, and rounding out the top-10 starting positions is Scott Dixon, Will Power, Scott McLaughlin, Kyffin Simpson and Graham Rahal.
Sunday’s NTT INDYCAR Series 90-lap race at Long Beach will broadcast live at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
