Corey Heim Dominates At Charlotte Motor Speedway To Earn Fourth Win Of 2025
by Hunter Thomas May 23, 2025 1 commentCONCORD, N.C. – Corey Heim put on another dominate performance in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on Friday night as he outran the field to win the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Last weekend, Heim dominated North Wilkesboro Speedway but spun on the final lap to finish 17th. On Friday night, Heim was flawless, and he sent his TRICON Garage No. 11 Safelite/Foster Love Toyota team to Victory Lane for the fourth time this season.
“It feels like we’ve had a lot of opportunities to that this year, really,” Heim said. “Even last week, we didn’t win any stages but I knew we were the best truck, and just being in position and getting cleaned out like that is tough, but just to be able to rebound and not have anyone have an opportunity to take me out of it on that last restart felt pretty good.”
The 22-year-old swept all stages at Charlotte Motor Speedway and led a race high of 98 laps en route to his 15th career series victory.
“I remembered being here as a kid running the quarter-mile up in the frontstretch in the Summer Shootout,” Heim said. “This place has always kind of been my nemesis – even in ARCA, so to come here and finally win, seven years removed from running those legends cars is awesome. Just grateful for TRICON Garage, Toyota, Safelite – second win for the month of May for the Foster Love Awareness month. So grateful to be here with a great team and looking forward to celebrating tonight.”
NASCAR Cup Series driver, Ross Chastain finished second after starting the race in the fourth position. The start marked Chastain’s second series start of the season. He finished sixth at Homestead-Miami Speedway back in March. At Charlotte Motor Speedway, Chastain finished second in Stage 1 and fifth in Stage 2. In the end, he just didn’t have the speed to catch Heim as the race went green for the final 57 laps.
Chastain’s Niece Motorsports teammate, Kaden Honeycutt finished third, followed by Layne Riggs and NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Busch. Rounding out the top-10 was Grant Enfinger, Matt Mills, Daniel Hemric, Rajah Caruth and Brandon Jones.
There were only three cautions for 20 laps. The only caution for an accident occurred on Lap 72, when contact with polesitter, Giovanni Ruggiero sent Chandler Smith into Ty Majeski, and the two drivers spun down the backstretch.
Heim now leads Smith by 100 points in the standings.
On Friday, May 30, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will visit Nashville Superspeedway for the Rackley Roofing 200. Live coverage of the race will broadcast on FS1 at 8 p.m. ET.
