CONCORD, N.C. – zMAX Dragway hosted the second event of the NHRA Countdown to the Championship.

At the end of the weekend, top honors went to Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel), Bob Tasca III (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle).

In Top Fuel, Kalitta defeated Mike Salinas by 0.022 seconds after he ran a run of 333.49 mph. The victory marked Kalitta’s 51st career win in Top Fuel. The performance also marked his second-straight win in the playoffs.

Tasca ran a 329.26 mph run to defeat point leader, Robert Hight in the Funny Car final. Tasca now moves into second-place in the Playoffs.
