DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Greg Van Alst pulled off the biggest victory of his career on Saturday in the BRANDT 200 at Daytona International Speedway.

Alst entered the race with only one superspeedway car. The Indiana native is known throughout the grassroots racing community; however, winning at Daytona is on a completely different level. After climbing out of his No. 35 Verns Concrete/CB Fabricating/Sam Pierce Chevrolet, Alst was overwhelmed with emotion on the frontstretch as he reached for the checkered flag.

“It’s everything I’ve got,” said Alst. “This is the only speedway car that I had, and there’s no way I wasn’t going to bring it home without the steering wheel and the trophy, and that was it. This is for all of the short track racers out there that don’t think you can get to this level. I worked my ass off to get here, and we did it!”

The win marked his first-ever victory in the ARCA Menards Series. Last year was Alst’s first full-time effort in the series, and he has now entered 2023 carrying the momentum and pulling off the upset in Daytona.

Connor Mosack, Sean Corr, Lavar Scott an Mandy Chick rounded out the top-five. Completing the top-10 was Amber Balcaen, Jesse Love, Jack Wood, Jason White and Dale Quarterley.

The ARCA Menards Series will visit Phoenix Raceway on Friday, March 10 for the General Tire 150. The race will get underway at 6 p.m. ET, and it’ll broadcast on FS2.
