DARLINGTON, S.C. – On Wednesday, NASCAR announced the starting lineups for this weekend’s Cook Out Southern 500, Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200 and the South Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Darlington Raceway.
Chase Elliott will start on the pole for the 71st running of the Cook Out Southern 500. He is winless in the NASCAR Cup Series at the track, Too Tough To Tame, but he did win the NASCAR Xfinity Series race back in 2014. Denny Hamlin, who will start alongside of him, has won the prestigious event on three occasions, including last year. The Cook Out Southern 500 will broadcast live on the NBCSN and MRN at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Justin Haley, who is coming off a victory at Daytona International Speedway, will start on the pole for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200. Chase Briscoe will start second. Briscoe won at Darlington Raceway earlier this year in May, when the series resumed racing after being shutdown for the COVID-19 pandemic. The Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200 will broadcast live on NBC and MRN at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Brett Moffitt will start on the pole for the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series South Carolina Education Lottery 200 on Sunday. Sheldon Creed, who has two of the last three races, will start second. The South Carolina Education Lottery 200 will broadcast live on FS1 and MRN at 2 p.m. ET.
