Kyle Busch Dominates To Win In NASCAR Overtime At Bristol Motor Speedway

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Kyle Busch won Wednesday night’s rain-delayed NASCAR Camping World Truck Series UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway after driving through the field following a speeding penalty prior to the start of the final stage of the race.

Busch drove his No. 46 Banfield Toyota on his way to also winning Stage 1 and Stage 2, leading 109 laps of the total 203 laps raced.

Kyle Busch sped on pit road during a caution before the final stage and had to go to the rear. Just a few laps into Stage 3, Busch had made his way back up into the top-15. Busch retook the lead with 33 laps remaining in the race after driving through the entire field.

Busch used the high line on the track to make passes. He said after his win, “Well I knew once we got that penalty that I had to go somewhere other than where everybody else was. I just started grooming the top and it took about 15 laps for it to come in and then it started going. It was pretty fast. Can’t say enough about all these guys on this Banfield Pet Hospital Tundra. It was awesome. It was awesome when we unloaded. We made some fine-tune adjustments to it and she was really good all day long. Can’t say enough about Toyota, TRD, Cessna, a Rowdy Manufacturing chassis in victory lane here. Joe Gibbs Racing engines are always strong. Can’t thank them enough. Of course NOS Energy Drink, Incredible Bank, DVX Sunglasses. Everybody at KBM, they obviously do a fantastic job. All the guys and girls and everybody that works on these things make them so fast and make them as fast as they are. Appreciate all the fans as well. I know it’s a late night – everybody watching at home, everybody here. It was a lot of fun to come through the field like that. It kind of gave me some ideas about the rest of the week. Probably showed a bunch of stuff too, but that’s what it’s all about man. This is the start of a triple, so hopefully we can get it.”

On lap 196, the caution came out when Justin Haley and Austin Wayne Self collided, setting up the field for NASCAR Overtime. Busch soared out to the lead on the final restart and was able to hold off the field to capture the win.

Matt Crafton finished second in the race after leading 90 laps in the No. 88 Menards Chevrolet. This marks Crafton’s 10th top-10 finish in 2017.

John Hunter Nemechek finished in the third position He has finished in the top-10 in each of his four starts at the high-banked, half-mile track.

Grant Enfinger and Ben Rhodes completed in the top-five. Johnny Sauter, Christopher Bell, Parker Kligerman, Austin Cindric and Brandon Jones closed out the top-10 in the finishing order.

The caution flag flew five times over the course of the event, including three incidents on the track.

Christopher Bell currently leads the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings by 42 points over Johnny Sauter.
