Adam Resnick Looking Forward To ‘Fun’ 2017 Season

LUCAMA, N.C. – For veteran racer Adam Resnick, the 2017 season at Southern National Motorsports Park is all about having fun.

Resnick, 42, from Surf City, North Carolina has worn many hats in the sport.  He’s a racer first and foremost, but he has also operated two North Carolina short tracks.  However, his presence in the sport has been limited since 2015.  He’s been spotting for Late Model racer Michael Fose.

Now, Resnick is back and he’s having fun.

“Last year and a half, I’ve been helping Michael Fose out,” Resnick said.  “I’ve been spotting for him.  I’ve really enjoyed that.  I just want to come out.  They have an eight race schedule here, I can afford to do that.  I just want to have fun.  This place is close to my family and I’m looking forward to it.”

Resnick operated Wake County Speedway in Raleigh for a couple seasons and then became the promoter of Carteret County Speedway in Swansboro leading up to their inaugural race in 2015.  His experience on that side of the sport gives him even more respect for the people who make it possible for him to race at Southern National Motorsports Park.

“I enjoyed doing the promoting and ownership,” Resnick explained.  “I just care about racing in general.  I feel for Mike Diaz and Charlie Hansen and I’m proud of them for stepping up to continue racing and I support them.”

Resnick is racing a Late Model that was driven last year at Southern National Motorsports Park and Carteret County Speedway by Lynn Waller.  He’s not spending thousands of dollars to chase points, however.  Resnick once again says he’s just here to have fun.

“I’m trying not to spend any money at all,” Resnick commented.  “I’ve already spent enough in the past.  As long as I go out there and have fun, that’s all I care about.”

Resnick said he will run exclusively at Southern National Motorsports Park in 2017.

“I’m going to try to be disciplined,” Resnick stated.  “I’ve really got myself on a budget.  I just want to run the eight races, be loyal to Southern National and do a good job.”

Resnick will compete in twin Late Model features on Sunday, part of the 2017 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Season Opener presented by Rockside Tire of Smithfield.  Racing will also take place for the Chargers, Mini Stocks, U-CARs, Legends and Bandoleros as part of Sunday’s event, which goes green at 3pm.
