LEBANON, Tenn. – A heavy rainstorm ultimately forced the NTT INDYCAR SERIES to postpone the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix presented by OnlyBulls at Nashville Superspeedway to Monday, July 20, at 3 p.m. ET on FOX.
The race had already been delayed due to the FIFA World Cup Final, which saw Spain claim the victory. Following the conclusion of the match, lightning in the area placed the event under a weather hold before a sizeable rainstorm ultimately forced officials to postpone the race.
The postponement marks the first time an NTT INDYCAR SERIES race has been postponed since the 2018 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park.
The race will also be reduced from 300 laps to 225 laps due to a record heat forecast.
Andretti Global w/ Curb-Agajanian’s Kyle Kirkwood and Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden will bring the field down to the green flag on Monday.
