DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Penske Porsche continues to lead the way in the Rolex 24 with 10 hours down at Daytona International Speedway.

RECAP: Hours 1-6

HOUR 7

Fog presented a challenge for the teams after the sun went down.

Nick Yelloly kicked off the hour as the leader in the No. 93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian; however, Felipe Nasr put Penske Porsche back atop the board after pulling off a pass in Turn 5.

The hour was a quiet one with not too much action taking place aside from teams jockeying for position.

Nasr finished out the hour on top in the No. 7 Penske Porsche. Alex Quinn, driver of the No. 04 CrowdStrike Racing by APR car was the leader in LMP2. In GTD Pro, Corvette Racing continued to show the way as Alexander Sims led in the No. 3 Chevrolet. Mattia Drudi in the No. 27 Heart of Racing Aston was the leader in GTD.

HOUR 8

The Penske Porsche teams found each other again and battled for position. Nasr was still piloting the No. 7 car, with Kevin Estre in the No. 6 car. Before the hour was up, the two teams pitted and changed drivers. Julien Andaluer took over the No. 7 Porsche, and  Laurens Vanthoor got behind the wheel of the No. 6 Porsche.

In LMP2, PJ Hyett passed George Kurtz to once again place the No. 99 AO Racing car back into the lead.

HOUR 9

The caution did come out for debris in Turn 1 just prior to the 10 p.m. fireworks show. During the yellow, the Porsche teams pitted once again, and the No. 6 team moved ahead of the No. 7 team.

The No. 04 CrowdStrike car driven by Kurtz spun in the International Horseshoe. He was lucky to not collect other drivers. It took Kurtz a good while to get back going after spinning deep into the grass.

Class leaders were Vanthoor in GTP, Christian Rasmussen in LMP2, Tommy Milner in GTD Pro and Antonio Fuoco was leading in GTD.

HOUR 10

NASCAR driver, AJ Allmendinger was given a drive-thru penalty after pitting outside of the box. He was behind the wheel of the No. 60 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian.

Laurin Heinrich led the way in the No. 7 Penske Porsche, but the No. 93 Acura driven by INDYCAR’s Alex Palou began to make some noise and he moved into the second position. That being said, he was eventually overtaken by Matt Campbell in the No. 6 Penske Porsche.

Finishing out the hour, was Heinrich leading in GTP by 9 seconds over Campbell. Palou was in third, more than 16 seconds back.
