HAMPTON, Ga. – It was a solid night, into the Monday morning for Team Penske at EchoPark Speedway. With Ryan Blaney picking up his first victory of 2026, it was also the organization’s first win of the campaign. Another driver within the organization who had a solid night happened to be the driver of the No. 22 Hunt Brothers Pizza Ford Mustang, Joey Logano.

At the end of the night, Logano earned his first top-10 finish during July and snapped a four-race streak of finishes outside the top-10. Logano stayed up front with his teammates throughout most of the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart.

“That was a battle,” said Logano. “We got some good stage points and then a top-10, so we got the points we need, which is very crucial right now, especially when you come to a track like this because you just don’t know what’s going to happen. I wish I had something to go win with, but once we got back there, I couldn’t get back to the front. That’s about as good as I could have done there.”

Being a track that Logano has won at recently, EchoPark Speedway was a nice way to snap a streak of bad races. At a time when Logano is currently on the outside looking in for the playoff picture, Sunday’s race was a refreshing way to possibly kickoff some momentum toward a run for the Chase. This season has been nothing short of disappointing for the driver of the No. 22 Ford. Logano hasn’t finished inside the top-five since Martinsville back in March.

This time last season, though, Logano sat in a similar situation. Heading into the 20th race of the season in 2025, Logano had tallied two top-five finishes and five top-10 finishes. Ironically, after race 20 this year, Logano has the same number of top-five and top-10 finishes as he had last year. The only difference is that he hasn’t earned that elusive victory yet.

The format change can be seen affecting Logano in a very important way. After the 20th race in 2025, Logano sat 11th in the NASCAR Cup Series points. In 2026, after race 20, Logano sits 17th and is now just eight points out of the Chase. With six races remaining in the Regular Season, Logano has a list of tracks where he’s been successful, including the next one at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Logano won the NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Race in Wilkesboro’s return in 2024. He also finished runner-up in the race last season.

Logano has two runner-up finishes at Indianapolis (2015 and 2019), two top-10 finishes at Iowa, two victories at Richmond and New Hampshire, and one victory at Daytona. The last string of races is very good for the driver from Middletown, Connecticut, and it could ultimately see Logano sneak its way into the Chase.
