Tyler Reddick Becomes First Cup Series Driver To Win First Three Races Of A Season

AUSTIN, Tex. – Tyler Reddick has now swept the first three races of the NASCAR Cup Series season after winning at Circuit of The Americas on Sunday, becoming the first driver in history to do so.

Reddick and his 23XI Racing No. 45 Chumba Casino Toyota team have been unstoppable in 2026. In the DAYTONA 500, he made a last lap pass to earn his first victory in the prestigious race. At EchoPark Speedway, he led the most laps, overcame a crash and won.

On Sunday at Circuit of the Americas, Reddick sat on the pole for the third time this season and absolutely dominated the DuraMAX Texas Grand Prix Powered by RelaDyne, leading 58 laps en route to his 11th-career series victory. In the closing laps, Reddick outran road course expert, Shane van Gisbergen.

“It means the world,” Reddick said. “Yeah, it’s so fitting. We get going at the end there and I’m leading and there’s SVG, the guy I’ve been trying to beat for a while now. Just to be able to out last him there and hold on for the win is just incredible.

“Just really proud of this Chumba Casino Toyota Camry, everyone at 23XI. We worked really hard. We did not like getting beat like that at road courses. It’s one race, but it was so important, so fitting that we were able to get three in a row and make history.”

NBA legend and co-owner of Reddick’s car, Michael Jordan was absolutely thrilled following the victory. He has attended all three races this season, and now with Reddick winning, he’ll be making the trip to Phoenix Raceway coming up this weekend.

I’m proud of the team that we’ve put together,” Jordan said. “Denny (Hamlin, co-owner) I’m pretty sure is the same way. He feels the same way I do. I think a lot of credit goes to him because I think he’s the mastermind behind finding Tyler and putting together Billy Scott (crew chief).

“Look, I just put up the money. I’m just a competitor. But I think Denny has done an unbelievable job in terms of helping build this team, and I think the team has done a good job of taking on leadership and going out and winning. That’s what it’s about, winning.”

Van Gisbergen kicked off the weekend by winning Saturday’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts race, but on Sunday, he had to settle for a runner-up finish in the Trackhouse Racing No. 97 Safety Culture Chevrolet. The New Zealander started 13th and finished 10th in Stage 1 and second in Stage 2. In the closing laps, Gisbergen just didn’t have the speed to catch Reddick.

“Yeah, it’s weird to be disappointed with second, but this series is just at a high level,” van Gisbergen said. “I felt, okay, we got our SafetyCulture Chevy at lot better than yesterday, but just following Tyler, his driving was immaculate and his car was very good, too.

“I tried, but didn’t quite have enough. Still a great points day for the 97.”

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell finished third on Sunday in the No. 20 DEWALT Toyota, earning his first top-five finish of the season. In fact, it was also his first top-20 finish after crashing in Daytona and at EchoPark Speedway.

“I got that great restart on new tires, and I’m like, I’m in position here, baby, we’re going to do this,” Bell said. “Just sold out. All race long whenever I was on equal tires with guys I was falling backwards. So strategy worked out. Super thankful that Adam Stevens called a really good race, got us on offense, got me a tire advantage over the field, and then I was able to salvage a good finish out of it.”

Ty Gibbs and Michael McDowell completed the top-five. Rounding out the top-10 was Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, AJ Allmendinger and Denny Hamlin.

Ross Chastain won Stage 1, and Gibbs won Stage 2.

There were 13 lead changes among nine drivers.

The only cautions were for stage endings and debris (a tire) on Lap 76.

Reddick has a commanding lead in the standings. He currently leads his 23XI Racing teammate, Bubba Wallace by 70 points.

The NASCAR Cup Series will visit Phoenix Raceway on Sunday, March 8 for the Straight Talk Wireless 500. Live coverage will broadcast on FOX at 3:30 p.m. ET.
