
RECAP/PHOTOS: 17th Annual Hampton Heat 200 At Langley Speedway
by Hunter Thomas July 23, 2025 0 commentsLANGLEY, Va. – Langley Speedway hosted the 17th Annual Hampton Heat 200 on Saturday and after a long rain delay, Matt Waltz prevailed to earn his first victory in the prestigious NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Model event.
Waltz started on outside pole and just prior to the halfway break on Lap 100, he took over the lead. The 2017 Langley Speedway Champion then dominated the second half of the race and cruised to victory. The victory came in Waltz’s 11th attempt at winning the Hampton Heat 200. With the win, Waltz is now locked into the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway.
Connor Hall was runner-up, followed by Brenden “Butterbean” Queen, Wood Howard and Kade Brown. Rounding out the top-10 was Carson Loftin, Peyton Sellers, Ronnie Bassett Jr., Trevor Ward and Brandon Pierce.
