TIMMONSVILLE, S.C. – The Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour visited Florence Motor Speedway for the first time on Saturday night. During the Aaron’s 250, points leader Matt Craig captured his third Super Late Model win of the season, and Nolan Pope earned his first series Late Model Stock Car victory.

Craig and Trevor Noles started the 125-lap race on the front row, and they battled each other hard all night long. Michael Ritch joined the battle and led laps, but he was later parked following his role in an accident that involved Layne Riggs in Turn 3.

In the end, Craig outran pole-sitter, Noles to extend his series points lead. Sammy Smith finished third, followed by Kodie Conner and Justin Crider.

In the Late Model Stock Car race, Layne Riggs and Lee Pulliam brought the field to the green flag, but it was former NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series driver, Timothy Peters who led the majority of the race.

Peters looked as if he was going to win the 125-lap race, but it was Pope who chased him down and pulled off the race-winning move on the final lap. Believe it or not, Pope didn’t know that the pass was for the lead or the win until after the checkered flag.

Peters held on to finish second, while Chad McCumbee, Pulliam and Jared Fryer rounded out the top-five.

Up next on the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour schedule is the $30,000 to win Heritage Transportation Risk Management “Old North State Nationals” pres. by GXS Wraps at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Easley, South Carolina on Sunday, October 25. The green flag will wave at 3 p.m. ET.

Below are photos that Hunter Thomas captured throughout the race on Saturday at Florence Motor Speedway.
