DARLINGTON, S.C. – On Monday, FOX Sports announced that more than 6 million viewers tuned in to The Real Heroes 400 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday.

For the first time since the checkered flag fell at Phoenix Raceway on March 8, NASCAR resumed its 2020 season with a 400-mile race at the track, Too Tough To Tame. As the nation continues to slowly reopen after being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series was the only live sporting event being broadcast.

With grandstands being closed, the nation tuned in. FOX Sports announced on Monday that 6.32 million viewers watched the event. The race was the highest watched non-Daytona 500 NASCAR Cup Series race since Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 5, 2017.

In the coming days, Darlington Raceway will host two additional NASCAR national series races.

Drivers of the NASCAR Xfinity Series will compete in the Toyota 200 on Tuesday, May 19. Live coverage will broadcast on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) and the Motor Racing Network (MRN) at 8 p.m. ET.

The NASCAR Cup Series will return to Darlington Raceway on Wednesday, May 20 for the Toyota 500 (310.6 miles) that will broadcast live on FS1 and MRN at 7:30 p.m. ET.
