DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 62nd running of the Daytona 500 has been postponed to Monday at 4 p.m. ET due to rain soaking the track after 20 laps had been completed.

The Great American Race began with United States President Donald J. Trump leading the field in the presidential motorcade. Not long after the 45th president departed the track, rain began to fall, and the race started later than scheduled.

Once underway, pole-sitter, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. led the field around the speedway for 20 laps until the rain once again returned. NASCAR and track officials attempted for hours to dry the track but were eventually forced to postpone the race.

Live coverage of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway will begin at 4 p.m. ET on FOX Monday evening.
