BOWMANVILLE, Ont. – Defending NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series champion, Brett Moffitt dominated Sunday’s Chevrolet Silverado 250 to win at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

Moffitt, who started on the pole in the GMS Racing No. 24 CMR Construction & Roofing Chevrolet led 44 of 64 laps en route to his fourth victory of the season. He entered the weekend coming off a victory at Bristol Motor Speedway.

“As far as the team goes, I just feel like everyone at GMS, all the way back to the fab shop on up has been doing a better job,” Moffitt said in Victory Lane.

He continued and said, “I’d say that we’re hitting our stride at the right time. It took a while to get here, but before, it was like we were missing a little bit everywhere, and now we’re hitting on all cylinders, so this is great.”

Quebec’s Alex Tagliani finished second in the series’ only trip to Canada in 2019. Ben Rhodes, Sheldon Creed and Austin Hill rounded out the top-five. Johnny Sauter finished sixth, followed by Stewart Friesen, Ross Chastain, Tyler Ankrum and Raphael Lessard.

Of the three cautions, two were for the completions of stages and one was for a single truck accident.

With the win, Moffitt now leads Chastain in the NASCAR Playoff standings by 22 points. Friesen trails by 44 points, followed by Matt Crafton (-45), Austin Hill (-46) and Grant Enfinger (-48). Below the Playoff cutline as of the moment is Johnny Sauter (-50) and Ankrum (-62).

The NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series will visit Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday, September 13 for the World of Westgate 200. The race is the final event of the Round of 8. Live coverage will broadcast on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) and the Motor Racing Network (MRN) at 9 p.m. ET.
