LAKE VIEW, S.C. – After going winless last year, Marion, SC’s Johnny Pridgen led flag-to-flag to claim his fourth Late Model win of the season Saturday night at Lake View Motor Speedway.

In qualifying, Pridgen took the pole position over Colby Jenerette and Shaun Sewell with a fast lap of 17.347 seconds.

At the drop of the green flag for the 25-lap main event, Pridgen got the advantage over Sewell and Dustin Mitchell, while Jenerette slipped back to fourth at the start. As the field exited turn four to complete lap one, Johnathon Ward spun across the track, collecting Bradley Shampy and launching Chris Miller over the hood of Ward’s car. All the drivers were okay, but only Miller was able to continue in the race.

Pridgen continued to lead, but in the latter stages of the race, Sewell began to run down the leader. However, a couple of quick cautions allowed everyone’s tires to cool and Pridgen would go on to take a dominant win over Sewell, Mitchell, Christian Thomas, and Jenerette.

The Open Wheel Modifieds returned to Lake View for the first time since May and Christian Thomas was able to score his first win at the speedway. After two failed attempts to start the race by front row starters Daniel Parker and Andy Boahn, they would be moved back to the second row putting Thomas on the pole. Thomas led every lap for the win over Parker, Wayne Gray, David Taylor, and Boahn.

Polesitter Michael Freeman got the advantage on the start over Benji Thompson to score his first Limited Sportsman win of the year at Lake View. Following Freeman and Thompson at the checkers were David Royal, Chris Powers, and Scott Lewis.

In just his second start of the season, Tom Lovett started on the pole for the second week in-a-row to take a dominating win in the Renegade division. Martin Sweatt finished second over Josh Cook, Donald Williams, and Buck Causey.

The Mod-Lites made their return to Lake View and Stephen Ford led flag-to-flag to score the win over Donovan Jackson, Mason Ford, Morghan Johnson, and Joe Riffle.

“Joker Style” Kyle Jenks returned to his winning way by taking the checkered flag in the Stingerz division. The only major contact of the race occurred when Andrew Rowell slammed the frontstretch wall on a restart after contact with Tonya Jordan. Following Jenks at the finish were Derek Kemper, Robert Pfouts, Brian Mercer, and Jordan.

In Sharp Mini Late Model action Albert Brayfield scored the win over Johnny Pridgen.

The next event at Lake View Motor Speedway will be Darlington Raceway Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday, August 17th, featuring a Limited Sportsman special with double-points also being awarded to that class. Also in action will be the Late Models, Renegades, SportMods, Stingerz and Sharp Mini Late Models.
