Christopher Bell Wins At Dover; Captures $100,000 Dash 4 Cash Bonus

DOVER, Del. – Christopher Bell won the Allied Steel Buildings 200 and captured the $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus at Dover International Speedway on Saturday.

In a race that only saw three lead changes, Bell went on to lead the final 14 laps en route to his third victory of the season. The driver of the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 Rheem Toyota now has two career victories at the Monster Mile. Saturday’s race marked the conclusion of this year’s Dash 4 Cash campaign. Bell won two of the four Dash 4 Cash races.

“I just can’t say enough about everyone on this team 20 at Joe Gibbs Racing,” Bell said. “They never quit. They keep working and over the last couple weeks we’ve had really fast race cars, but we just haven’t been able to capitalize on it. This one is really out to my pit crew. They did a great job of getting me out first there where I could control the restarts. I knew if we could get out front, we were going to be tough to beat. This one’s for everyone at Rheem, Ruud, everyone at Xfinity and all the people at Xfinity for putting up this serious money right here. This is one of the coolest trophies that we get to have – a cardboard check for $100,000.”

Justin Allgaier finished in the second position, followed by Tyler Reddick in third. Cole Custer finished a disappointing fourth after winning the pole and leading a race high of 155 laps. Chase Briscoe completed the top-five.

Rounding out the top-10 were Austin Cindric, Brandon Jones, John Hunter Nemechek, Zane Smith and Michael Annett.

During the 200-lap race, there were five cautions for 29 laps. Two accidents were for multicar crashes.

On lap 155, Kaz Grala spun in Turn 2 after Nemechek made contact with his rear bumper. Grala made very light contact with the inside wall before his No. 21 HotScream Chevrolet came to a halt on the backstretch.

Smith crashed hard on the frontstretch coming to the checkered flag. He and Nemechek were racing hard out of Turn 4, when they made contact.

Reddick leads the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings by 23 points over Bell.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will visit Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 25 for the Alsco 300. Live coverage of the race will broadcast on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) and the Performance Racing Network (PRN).
