PELETIER, N.C. – The Charger division is one of the most popular in the Eastern North Carolina racing scene, and they will race in primetime alongside the CARS Tour at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway on Saturday, July 13th.

The Charger division is taking the place of the Legends on the July 13th schedule, the second time the division has run at Carteret County.  The race features a unique opportunity for the division as it will be televised live as part of the CARS Tour TV broadcast – increasing the exposure for a division that often produces classic racing.

“These Charger guys have been calling and messaging us all year about racing with us and the Crystal Coast 125 is a perfect weekend to showcase the division,” Carteret County Speedway track owner Bob Lowery said.  “Neither Southern National or East Carolina is running that night and there is a lot of interest from competitors.  This will be a great opportunity for the Chargers and for Carteret County Speedway.”

The Charger division will pay $800-to-win and $100-to-start and will run on four scuff tires.  Additional details about purse and rules will be announced in the upcoming days.  The Chargers last raced at Carteret County on July 4, 2018.  The race was won by Goldsboro’s Jonathan Kornegay.

The Solid Rock Carriers Crystal Coast 125 will be headlined by the CARS Late Model Stock Tour.  The Carolina Mini-Stock Challenge will also be in action on Saturday, July 13th.
