TALLADEGA, Ala. – Tyler Reddick held off the field in the final laps of Saturday’s MoneyLion 300 to win his first race of the season and the $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus at Talladega Superspeedway.

Reddick, who is now a four-time winner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series started the 113-lap race in the second position. The 23-year-old Richard Childress Racing driver won Stage 1 of the race before holding on for the win with a damaged No. 2 Roland Chevrolet.

“I tried to take us out of this race so many times, and somehow we got back into the mix,” Reddick said in Victory Lane. “Got back to the lead.”

Gray Gaulding held on for a second-place finish in the No. 08 Panini/NASCAR Racing Experience Chevrolet. The finish marks a career-high effort for Gaulding in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

“Man, I timed it perfect,” Gaulding said. “I was kind of a lone ranger out there. I think I just had to earn a lot of people’s respect. I’ll tell you one thing, I told my guys when we came here, I left it all out on the table, man. I did as much as I could to get beside him (Tyler Reddick), but when the 98 (Chase Briscoe) came up, he kind of blocked my run, and man it was so, so close.

Christopher Bell, Briscoe and Austin Cindric completed the top-five. Rounding out the top-10 were John Hunter Nemechek, Justin Haley, Josh Williams, Landon Cassill and Chis Cockrum.

Throughout the afternoon, there were eight cautions for 34 laps. Two of the cautions were for Talladega’s traditional “big ones”.

The first big crash brought out the caution on lap 96. It all started when a bump draft went amiss between Cindric and Michael Annett down the backstretch. The contact sent Annett sharply up the track and into Justin Allgaier and Cole Custer.

The second big crash, brought out the final caution of the day on lap 110. While racing four-wide, Jeffrey Earnhardt got loose as the field made its way out of Turn 2 and onto the backstretch. Earnhardt spun as six other drivers were collected. The red flag was displayed for 14 minutes.

Reddick leads Bell by 32 points in the standings.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will visit Dover International Speedway on Saturday, May 4 for the Allied Steel Buildings 200. Live coverage of the race will broadcast on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) and the Motor Racing Network (MRN) at 1:30 p.m.
