Kyle Busch Becomes Winningest Driver In Truck Series History With Atlanta Win

HAMPTON, Ga. – Kyle Busch became the winningest driver in NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series history after he won the Ultimate Tailgating 200 on Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Busch started seventh in the No. 51 Cessna Toyota and led a race high of 92 laps throughout the 130-lap race. Busch has won five series events at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The victory marks his 52^nd win in the series, topping Ron Hornaday Jr.’s 51 wins. Busch became the winningest driver in series history with the victory. The Las Vegas native’s first series win came in May of 2005 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“It certainly means a lot,” Busch said. “I want to thank everybody at Cessna and Toyota and our amazing partners that get us here and allow us to do what we do. I had Billy Ballew on board with us here today and Billy’s right over here as well. It took getting Billy Ballew back on my truck to be able to get me a win here, so we might have to make that an annual recurrence. I can’t say enough about my guys.”

Johnny Sauter finished second, followed by Grant Enfinger, Brett Moffitt and Ben Rhodes.

Completing the top-10 was Ross Chastain, Daytona winner Austin Hill, Harrison Burton, Todd Gilliland and Timothy Peters.

There were six cautions for 30 laps. Only three cautions were for an accident. Natalie Decker spun out of Turn 4 on lap 17 and 113. The only multi-truck accident occurred on lap 119, when five trucks piled up on the frontstretch. Due to cleanup and a heavy mist, there was 16 minutes and 59 second red flag before the field went back to green with five laps to go.

The NASCAR Gander Outdoors Series will be back in action on Friday, March 1 for the Strat 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The race will broadcast live on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) and the Motor Racing Network (MRN) at 9 p.m. ET.
