PELETIER, N.C. – Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway will be celebrating the Christmas spirit of giving back on Saturday, December 15th.

Residents in the community are invited to come out and share in a meal and spend time with friends and family at Bobby Watson’s Christmas Celebration, which will be held at the infield of the track from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. on December 15th.

“We’re really doing this to help out and give back to the community,” track owner Bob Lowery said.  “This has been a difficult year for the Carteret and Onslow community, between Hurricane Florence and the recent storms.  We wanted everyone to spend the day at the track and have a good time.”

In addition to a home cooked meal, the track will also have live entertainment, Santa Claus on hand for youths to meet, will have a racecar on hand for ride-alongs, and handing out toys for kids ages 12 and under.  Toy donations can be dropped off at the track or at the Second Blessings Ministries thrift store in Morehead City.

The Christmas celebration will begin at 12 p.m. and wrap up by 4 p.m.  The event is free to attend and open to all members of the public.
