PELETIER, N.C. – Forty Mini-Stocks have pre-registered, and more expected to enter, for Saturday’s 4-Cylinder Nationals at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway and the entries come from various regions of the country.

Saturday evening’s 4-Cylinder Nationals, put together by the Carolina Mini-Stock Challenge, will pay $2,000-to-win and $200-to-start with a field of 26 taking the green flag in the feature race. The starting lineup will be based on the results of heat races earlier in the afternoon with a handful of cars making it in through a Last Chance Qualifier which will go green at 6 p.m.

Forty drivers, from eight different states, have entered for the 4-Cylinder Nationals. The list of drivers who headline the race include Carolina Mini-Stock Series champion Kris Hetu, track champion Stephen Sanders, Late Model champion Brandon Clements, U-CAR champion Adam Resnick and A.J. Sanders.

The 4-Cylinder Nationals appears destined to be the Mini-Stock’s “Civil War on Wheels” as the home track drivers look to defend their turf from drivers who call other tracks, and other states, home. Barry Wilson, Ronnie “Buckshot” Jones and Chuck Wall, who all come form different tracks, will provide a challenge to locals.

Among the drivers from outside the tri-state region looking to win in the Nationals are: Kodi Sarins from Windsor, Vermont; Nick Anderson from Oxford, Massachusetts; Matthew Sonnhalter from White River Junction, Vermont; Cody LeBlanc from Berlin, New Hampshire; Emerson Cayer from Contoocook, New Hampshire; George Sparkman from Rockford, Illinois; and Scott Hoeft from Watertown, Wisconsin.

“I’m extremely humbled by the support and interest in this race being a new promoter,” Carolina Mini-Stock Challenge owner and promoter Travis Provost said. “I can’t wait to start watching trailers pull into the speedway. I’m sure I’ll be grinning ear-to-ear.”

The 4-Cylinder Nationals at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway will also feature Mod-4 racing action as well as features for the Legends, Mini Cup and Champ Kart divisions. Mini-Stock heat races will go green at 4pm, the pre-race meet-and-greet will take place at 5pm and the green flag will fly at 6pm.

General admission tickets are $15 per person while kids 10 and under get in free. Active/retired military and first responders (fire/police/EMS) get $5 off general admission tickets.
