THORNBURG, Va. – Huber Motor Cars Night at the Races at Dominion Raceway gave fans plenty of action.

The Signature Home Settlements Modifieds took to the track first. Early in the 35 lap event the cars of (#37) Wayne Hartley, (#5) Tony Fowler and (#43) Warren Lipford got together in turn 3 but, that was only the beginning.

After the incident, Fowler while under yellow made contact with the cars of Harley and Lipford and then both Fowler and Lipford got out of their cars, walked briskly to the car of Hartley and an “inicident” ensued. Look for penalies to be handed down on Tuesday.

Oh yes, there was a race. Chris Humblet (#20) held off his dad Jimmy (#11) to take the win.

Mike Carte (#44) picked up another win in the 25 lap Mini Modified race holding off Steve Brady (#53), Brady making his first Mini Mod start of the season.

The D&L U Car class saw (#12) Ryan Pritt hold off Aaron Donnelly (#31) for the win. Don Schumann (#11) was third.

The NASCAR Whelen All American Series presented by Papa John’s had Logan Jones (#77) starting on the pole after the redraw. Colin Garret (#24) was fastest qualifier and started 4th. Jones lead much of the early part of the race but could not hold off (#8) Tyler Hughes, Hughes making the pass in turn four for the lead. Mike Looney (#87) made his first start at Dominion Raceway and after falling back at the start, rallied to finish second. Jones held on for thrid with Jeff Oakley (#11) fourth and (#4) Timmy Phipps fifth.

All results will be officially certified on Tuesday. Next Saturday it’s the McCreary Race Tires 175, racing starts at 7.
