CONCORD, N.C. – Richard Childress Racing’s No. 3 Chevrolet returned to Victory Lane for the first time in 17 years on Sunday night after Austin Dillon won the 58th running of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Dillon ran competitively throughout the 400-lap race, but a it was a late-race fuel gamble that secured his first-ever Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory. The last driver to win in the No. 3 car was Dale Earnhardt Sr. at Talladega Superspeedway in 2000. With the win, Dillon became the first North Carolina driver to win a points race at Charlotte Motor Speedway since Dale Jarrett did so in 1997.

Kyle Busch finished second, followed by Martin Truex Jr. who led a race high of 233 laps. Rounding out the top-five was Joe Gibbs Racing teammates, Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin. Read More: Austin Dillon Pilots Iconic No. 3 To Victory Lane For The First Time Since 2000
