MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Myrtle Beach Speedway hosted the 24th annual Myrtle Beach 400 on Saturday. Christian Eckes beat his JR Motorsports teammate, Josh Berry in an exciting photo-finish to win the prestigious NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event.

More than 55 cars qualified for the event, and through two, 25-lap heat races, the 43-car field was set for the 225-lap race. The speedway also hosted a Modified race in-between the Late Model heats and main event. Hunter Thomas is a journalist who grew up in Darlington, S.C. His first motorsports-based endeavor was working as the Public Relations Director at Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, S.C., and his journalism start came while he was freelancing at his hometown newspaper, the News & Press while in college.
