RIDGEWAY, Va. – Jimmie Johnson won the Goody’s Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday to earn a spot in the Championship 4 round of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Johnson’s victory marked his ninth career win at Martinsville Speedway. Now that Johnson will be a Championship 4 contender, he’ll have an opportunity to tie Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Sr. for most series championship if he captures his seventh title at Homestead-Miami Speedway in November. The driver of the Hendrick Motorsports No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS led the final 92 laps en route to the victory in Sunday’s race.

Hunter Thomas, Wayne Thomas and Tyler Goodson were at the track covering the Round of 8 event. Check out the photos that Wayne and Tyler captured on Sunday.
