BRISTOL, Tenn. – Michael Annett will not compete in Saturday’s Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Annett, driver of the HScott Motorsports No. 46 Pilot J/Battle at Bristol Chevrolet SS is suffering from flu-like symptoms. The team announced on Saturday afternoon that Justin Allgaier, who finished second in Friday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race, will serve as the substitute driver. Annett currently sits 37th in the championship standings and was slated to roll off the starting grid in the 39th position.
If Annett doesn’t take the green flag, then he won’t be awarded any driver points. If Allgaier were to win the race, the victory wouldn’t count towards the Chase, due to Allgaier not being a full-time driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Below is the tweet that HScott Motorsports sent out on Saturday afternoon.
Due to flu-like symptoms, Michael Annett won't compete in tonight's event. Justin Allgaier will drive the No. 46 Pilot Flying J Chevrolet.
