North Carolina’s MCAS New River Returns To The Red Bull GRC Scheduleby Benjamin Sanders June 1, 2016 0 comments
The Red Bull Global Rallycross will celebrate the July 4th weekend in style with the return of the series to Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina for the second consecutive season.
The diversity of the series once again shines through as this is the only motorsports event to take place on an active military base in the country, and it will be the sixth and seventh rounds of the season, marking the crucial halfway point on the calendar.
“We are honored to have the opportunity to return to MCAS New River for the second year in a row,” said Red Bull GRC CEO Colin Dyne. “We had an incredible experience racing in front of the Marines and their families last year, making this event an obvious choice to expand to a doubleheader this year!”
This year’s event has an updated course layout, which allows fans to get closer to the intense racing action in addition to the open paddock where fans can meet the drivers and teams. The backdrop of military vehicles juxtaposed to the high-horse powered race cars of Red Bull GRC creates an incredible and patriotic visual.
The event will no doubt be a celebration of freedom with all the pomp and circumstance, paying homage to the men and women who protect us, allow us to live safely and be able to enjoy some world class racing in the United States of America.
The Red Bull GRC makes this event as special as possible for our heroes on Saturday, July 2, by opening the event exclusively to Department of Defense ID cardholders and their sponsored guests for Military Appreciation Day. On Sunday, July 3, general admission is free to fans interested in some of the best racing in the country. Premium paid ticket options are also available on Sunday. Both rounds at MCAS New River will broadcast live on NBC at 5 p.m. each day.
