NASCAR’s weekly post-event penalty report has three Sprint Cup and seven XFINITY teams listed on it following this past race weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.
The Nos. 44, 48 and 98 Sprint Cup teams were each given warnings for various pre-race inspection failures from Sunday.
The No. 44 Richard Petty Motorsports team failed pre-race laser inspection twice, making for the team’s second warning of the season.
The No. 98 Premium Motorsports entry failed pre-race template inspection twice, also making for their second warning of the season.
Hendrick Motorsports’s No. 48 team failed pre-race template inspection three times and will lose 15 minutes of practice time for this upcoming weekend’s GoBowling.com 400 at Kansas Speedway. The written warning also makes for the team’s second of the year.
In the XFINITY Series, the Nos. 0, 3, 4, 18, 43, 70 and 85 teams were each assessed written warnings exiting the Talladega weekend.
For the Nos. 0, 4, 18, 43, 70 and 85 teams, each team failed either pre-race laser or template inspection twice and will get off with only a written warning following last race weekend.
Richard Childress Racing’s No. 3 XFINITY team, however, failed pre-race laser inspection three times and will be docked 15 minutes of practice time from the series’s next race weekend at Dover International Speedway.
