2015 SCOTT Rookie of the Year challenger David Levine is scheduled to make his ARCA Racing Series return this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
The 22-year-old out of Highland Park, Ill. will partner together with Mason Mitchell Motorsports to pilot the team’s flagship No. 98 entry for Saturday’s Twilight 150 presented by Unique Pretzels.
Sponsorship for the start will be provided by Revant Optics, a manufacturer of lenses for sunglasses.
“This opportunity with MMM means the world to me,” Levine said. “I’m still in shock how quickly everything was able to come together. I’m heading back to NJMP for redemption. I had a great run going last year until something out my control broke. This opportunity means the world to me.”
“NJMP is a unique track to say the least. It has some incredibly high speed corners that test the drivers it also has some difficult and technical corners as well. It really is a great track. It’s one of my favorites. I feel incredibly blessed and am beyond thankful for the chance to race again. I know that their equipment is some of the best out there. I’m going to be pushing all weekend for the checkers.”
Levine ran the full ARCA season in 2015 for Lira Motorsports in an effort that resulted in a placing of fifth in the final standings.
Last year’s driver of the No. 59 car earned one top-five and 11 top-10 finishes and recorded a best result of third at Kentucky Speedway.
Already an accomplished road racer in a sports car discipline, Levine has experience on a multitude of famous North American circuits such as Road America, Road Atlanta and Sebring International Raceway.
In last year’s running of the Twilight 150, Levine encountered mechanical issues midway through the race and went on to finish in the 18th position. Mason Mitchell Motorsports’s then driver, Austin Wayne Self, finished seventh and led 16 laps in the No. 98 car last year.
