GMS Racing has announced that they will field a fourth entry in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Clint Bowyer for this upcoming weekend’s race at Kansas Speedway.
Bowyer, a three-time race winner in the Truck Series, will pilot the team’s No. 24 Chevrolet with sponsorship backing to be provided by Georgia Boot.
For the Emporia, Kansas native, Friday’s start in the Toyota Tundra 250 will mark his first start in the series since 2014. In his last Truck start, Bowyer earned a fourth-place finish in a fill-in start for the then injured John Wes Townley at Pocono Raceway.
Bowyer will race alongside of GMS Racing’s three full-time entries that are set to be piloted by Spencer Gallagher, Ben Kennedy and Johnny Sauter.
The upcoming Kansas weekend will mark the second time this season that GMS Racing will field a fourth entry. The organization fielded the No. 24 Chevrolet Silverado for Sprint Cup driver Kyle Larson at Martinsville Raceway in an effort that yielded Larson a fourth-place finish at Martinsville Speedway.
In 13 career starts in the Camping World Truck Series, Bowyer has three wins (Texas 2006, Kansas 2011, eight top-fives, nine top-10s and two Coors Light Pole Awards to his name.
Bowyer’s first time on-track with his GMS team will take place on Thursday with three practice sessions being lined up in preparation for the Toyota Tundra 250.
