ARCA Lands TV Broadcast Deal with American Sports Networkby Kyle Pokrefky March 29, 2016 0 comments
The ARCA Racing Series will receive additional television coverage this year as American Sports Network (ASN) will pick up broadcasting rights for nine races this season.
Five races will be broadcast live on the channel while the remaining four races of their deal will be aired on a tape delay.
ASN’s coverage coupled with FOX Sports’s coverage of 10 races this season provides all but one race (New Jersey Motorsports Park) with television coverage this year.
The five races that are to air live on ASN this year will be the events held at Toledo Speedway, Madison International Speedway, Winchester Speedway, Berlin Raceway and the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
ASN’s deal will start next week with its tape-delayed coverage at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. Other tape-delayed races will be filmed at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds and at both races at Salem Speedway.
The channel will also host a mid-week racing program during primetime that will feature replays of their live ARCA broadcasts on occasion.
“We are excited to once again bring racing to our viewers through ASN,” Doron Gorshein, COO of Sinclair Networks Group, said. “ASN’s coverage will include some of the series’ best short track races, designed to showcase ARCA Racing Series action from the tour’s ’bullrings,’ including both one-mile dirt events at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds and Illinois State Fairgrounds.”
“We are pleased to provide additional exposure of the ARCA Racing Series on American Sports Network,” Mark Gundrum, ARCA Vice President for Business Development and Corporate Partnerships, added. “This is a great opportunity for the teams, sponsors and fans of the series.”
