Denny Hamlin paced the field with a lap of 29.419 seconds in final practice for Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Last week’s Daytona 500 winner kept the scoring pylon illuminated in a similar fashion as last week’s race finish as Hamlin led the way over Martin Truex Jr., who turned in a lap time of 29.454 seconds.

The Hendrick Motorsports trio of Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Chase Elliott took positions three-through-five on the speed chart.

Kyle Busch, Jamie McMurray, Casey Mears, Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman each followed and completed the top-10 of the 80-minute session’s running order.

McMurray was the fastest driver over a 10-lap average with an average speed of 181.480 miles per hour – besting respective figures of 181.259 and 181.096 miles per hour from Newman and Johnson.

11th-place driver Matt Kenseth completed the most laps with 69 while Josh Wise completed the fewest with a total of 26 circuits.

The Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 will get underway at 1:00 p.m ET on Sunday and will be broadcast live on FOX and PRN.
