Matt DiBenedetto Returning to BK Racing’s No. 83 Toyotaby Kyle Pokrefky January 25, 2016 0 comments
BK Racing has announced that it has reached an agreement with driver Matt DiBenedetto to bring the second-year driver back for the 2016 season.
DiBenedetto, 24, will pilot BK Racing’s No. 83 Toyota for the second consecutive season and will look to build off of a 35th-place performance in the drivers standings from last season.
In 2015, DiBenedetto was entered for the team in 35 events and came home with a best finish of 18th coming in Talladega Superspeedway’s April race.
DiBenedetto’s best non-restrictor plate finish was a 21st that came in the spring race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
“Last year I learned a lot from everyone here at BK Racing and I’m looking forward to having a full notebook heading into the season,” DiBenedetto said. “Ron, Gene and the team have put in a lot of work over the offseason and we are all looking forward to Daytona.”
“We’re excited to have Matt back with us for 2016,” team owner Ron Devine said. “We were very pleased with the progress he made throughout his rookie season and we look forward to continuing down that path.”
DiBenedetto will have a familiar sight atop his pit box this season as Gene Nead will return to crew chief the No. 83 car this season.
Nead served as the crew chief for DiBendetto in eight races last season – including the last three races of the year.
Also set to return to the No. 83 team this season is sponsorship from Dustless Blasting and Cosmo Motors with Dustless Blasting set to sponsor the team for the Daytona 500.
