Kurt Busch Fastest in First Saturday Phoenix Practice

Front row starter Kurt Busch paced the field in second practice for the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500k at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday morning.

The driver of the No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet completed a lap of 25.783 seconds to top the speed chart over fellow Chase driver Carl Edwards, who turned in a lap of 25.851 seconds.

Behind the two Chase drivers were four Hendrick-powered drivers as Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson respectively took spots three through six.

Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., Joey Logano and A.J. Allmendinger respectively rounded out the top-10 of the session.

Busch was also fastest over a consecutive 10-lap run with an average speed of 138.834 miles per hour over his respective run. Johnson was second fastest over a 10-lap run with an average speed of 137.869 miles per hour.

Hamlin completed the most laps of the session with 69 while Timmy Hill completed the fewest with 13.

One more practice session is on tap for a 2:30 p.m ET / 12:30 p.m MT start and will run for 50 minutes.
