With a statement victory Friday night, Erik Jones won the WinStar World Casino and Resort 350k at Texas Motor Speedway.

This was his seventh victory in 38 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races and his first win and first top-10 finish in three races at Texas.

After starting the race fifth, Jones drove his No. 4 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota Tundra to the lead by lap 13, going on to lead 117 of the 147 laps raced before capturing the win.

“We went through a lot of ups and downs over the last couple of months trying to get back into this championship hunt and get our Tundra back in there,” Jones said in victory lane. “It’s pretty awesome. It’s quite a swing of ups and downs but it’s nice to be back in Victory Lane here, especially at Texas, a place I love.

“It’s so cool to win here. Tundras are built in San Antonio, so it’s cool to get kind of a hometown win for these guys.”

Only once were the trucks slowed for a caution after debris was found on the track on lap 55. The lack of cautions and pace of the race carried on to complete the quickest race in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series history at Texas Motor Speedway.

Jones holds onto the lead in the points standings, 17 points ahead of Matt Crafton, the fourth-place finisher, in second.

Jones knows he will go into next weekend as the points leader with only two races remaining.

“Me and Kyle (Busch, owner) were talking earlier this week, and just talking about how these next three tracks are good for KBM, good for myself,” Jones stated. “So going into Phoenix we’re undefeated there, we’re 2 and 0, so hopefully we can get another one next week.”

While Jones drove to the win, his teammate Daniel Suarez finished second. Ryan Blaney finished third, Crafton in fourth and Tyler Reddick, who is third in the points standings, finished fifth.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series enters their second to last race of the 2015 season next weekend at Phoenix International Raceway for the Lucas Oil 150 on Friday, November 13th at 8:30 PM ET with live coverage on Fox Sports 1 and MRN.
